Mahila Atmanirbhar Abhiyan (MAA) is a grassroots women's empowerment initiative committed to building a society where women are informed, skilled, financially aware, economically independent, socially confident and empowered to shape their own future.
Led by Dr. Rina Routray, Chairperson, MAA works with a clear understanding that empowerment cannot remain confined to conferences, policies or awareness campaigns. It must reach the woman at the grassroots - the woman who needs information, opportunity, skills, financial knowledge, market access and a supportive ecosystem to transform her life.
MAA therefore follows an action-oriented, grassroots-to-growth approach, connecting awareness with opportunity and opportunity with sustainable empowerment.
Our structured and scalable approach to transforming women's lives.
We begin by identifying the needs, aspirations, skills and challenges of women at the grassroots through community interactions and consultations.
Information is the first step towards empowerment. We conduct awareness programmes on financial literacy, government schemes and more.
Awareness must translate into capability. We facilitate training, workshops and capacity-building programmes designed around practical needs.
We work to bridge the gap by facilitating connections with financial institutions, government schemes, mentors, markets and platforms.
The final objective is transformation - helping women move from income generation to enterprise growth to community leadership.
Women, Communities, Government, Academia, Industry, Financial Institutions, NGOs, Entrepreneurs, Mentors and Markets - a collaborative ecosystem.
Dr. Rina Routray, Chairperson of Mahila Atmanirbhar Abhiyan (MAA), met Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.
During the meeting, Dr. Routray had a detailed and meaningful discussion with the Hon'ble President on the economic empowerment of women at the grassroots level, with a special focus on creating opportunities for women to become financially independent, self-reliant and empowered decision-makers.
The discussion highlighted the importance of strengthening women's access to financial literacy, entrepreneurship, skill development, market linkages, access to credit and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Empowering women economically, particularly those from rural and underserved communities, can create a transformative impact not only on their families but also on the wider community and the nation's development.
Dr. Routray shared the vision of Mahila Atmanirbhar Abhiyan to build a stronger ecosystem where women are equipped with the knowledge, skills, resources and confidence to achieve financial independence and dignity.
The meeting with the Hon'ble President was a deeply inspiring and memorable moment, reinforcing the collective commitment towards building an Atmanirbhar Nari and an Atmanirbhar Bharat. 🇮🇳
Awareness → Capacity Building → Skill Development → Financial Literacy → Enterprise → Market Access → Income → Confidence → Leadership
A financially independent woman gains greater confidence to participate in decisions affecting her family and community. That is the impact MAA seeks to create.
"Atmanirbharta begins with awareness, grows through capability and becomes meaningful when a woman gains the confidence and resources to make her own decisions."
